Welcome to Our Classroom Blog!

Throughout the month of September the children will learn all about their new school and making new friends. We will focus on cooperation and getting along with others as the class is introduced to the routines and expectations of school.  Each week your child will have numerous opportunities to participate in a variety of fun and exciting learning activities.  We are all very excited about the new School Year!!

Here are a few special ways you can reinforce at home what children will be learning.

Establish routines that will help your child to be attentive in school, such as getting plenty of sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and being ready on time.
Ask the names of your child’s teachers and classmates (Friendship Book coming home soon).
Talk about the school schedule and sequence of activities during the school day.
Practice safety rules to use when going to school and returning home every day.

Most of all, promote cooperation at home every day, which will help your child make a smooth and positive transition to school.

Home/School Connection ~ Literacy Tip
The beginning of the school year is the perfect time to take your child to the public library for a library card. If your child already has one, make regular trips to the library a part of your free time.

Tip of the Week
Work with your child to develop routines that help him or her be organized and ready for school each day.

Classroom Reminders
Arrival takes place at the playground and dismissal at the front door.
Please be sure your child is dressed to go outside everyday (including safe, secure footwear).
Time on the playground is part of our curriculum and we try our best to go outside every day (weather permitting).
All children should have a child-size backpack.  Please keep your child’s snack, lunch box and home/school folder in their backpack.

Please read the ECDC Family Handbook thoroughly Click Here to access online!

This handbook contains important information regarding the ECDC’s Policies and Procedures!
